Our modern quilt guild’s challenge for January, due on Monday, was to create a name tag. A handful of MQGs are doing (or have done) a name tag challenge. I have a pragmatic reason for championing this challenge: I can’t remember people’s names. I wanted mine to look like the sticky name tag we’ve all worn at least once.
I sewed a couple of scraps together then used iron-on fusible interfacing to stiffen the tag. I then used Maureen’s Janome to embroider the Hello my name is text. I wrote my name with a permanent pen since that’s what you do with the sticky tag type. Next came some white fabric for the back and my typical terrible ‘straight’ quilting. The last step was to trim it down.
