holiday giveaway

It’s time for a holiday-season giveaway. Leave a comment describing what you’d make with this fat quarter bundle of Robert Kaufman Essex linen (from superbuzzy!). I’ll pick a (random) winner from the comments.

fine print: US shipping only (unless you want to foot the bill). I’ll use one of those random-number thingie sites to choose a winner. I’ll pick a winner on January 6th (late in the day Pacific Standard Time…YOU HAVE TIME TO ENTER!).

  1. I’d make a bunch of great placemats. That fabric in all those colors looks awesome, and I’ve yet to work with the Essex. I am a total Kona cotto addict, though!

Thanks for the chance to win! Peace, love, and quilts!;-)

  2. Ohhh… Nice! I’d like to make the Jaybird Quilts Disco Quilt pattern. And thank you for the opportunity to win such a great giveaway!

  3. Essex is the best! Some storage totes maybe? Or a quilt for the living room; Essex gets so nice and soft when it’s washed.

  4. I have been wanting to work with the Essex linen for a long time and have never seen all the colors together before. They are usually out of stock of most colors. Gorgeous. They would make wonderful totes or pouches, but would probably make a warm-cuddly quilt. Thanks for the chance.

  5. Wow, what a neat set of linen fabrics. Not quite sure what I would make with them, would have to match them up with some other fabrics, perhaps some shot cottons – log cabins or square in a square (not to steal your thunder).

  6. I’ve yet to play with Essex linen, I would love the chance to. What would I make? Hmmm…probably a bag or a quilt. I’m from Canada but would be happy to pay the difference in the shipping 🙂

  7. Thanks for a great giveaway!

I’d definitely make placemats for our dining table — wedge shaped placemats, since we have a round table. I’d add in a bit of Tula Pink salt water (my favorite line!), and have a blast FMQ’ing them!

Remainder would be used for a mini quilt for my collection.

  8. Wow, this is a fantastic bundle! I love that yarn-dyed Essex. I think it always goes well paired with prints. I’m a bit obsessed with flying geese these days, so I would probably pair it up with similarly colored prints and make flying geese and somehow turn that into a quilt. I promise I would “make it work.” Hahaha.

    • I’m pretty new to the sewing game, so I’ve not yet tried anything for the home. Would love to try to make some placemats or napkins with this fabric, though. It’s beautiful!

  9. I have Elizabeth Hartman’s Sewing Circle tote pattern waiting for just the right fabric. I think these would be great in that!

  10. I love Essex yarn-dyed linen! I’d have a very hard time deciding what to make with these lovelies…perhaps a big soft lap quilt for the den. Something with big, chunky squares so that I can continue to admire the gorgeous texture of these fabrics! Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  11. If there’s still time, I’m totally IN!!! Saw it on IG. I am head over heels for yarn dyed Essex. It’s the beauty blender of all things quilted! Thanks for the chance. I would fit the bill to Canada, or provide a US addy for shipping….you know, when i win ; )

  12. I love yarn died linen and I’d probably use this bundle to add some gorgeous texture to a quilt I have planned with some DS scraps. And it looks like Ill see you at the Sew in on January 18

  13. Nice giveaway and such lovely colors! I’ve never used Essex, but I think I’d make a quilt with a simple patchwork of rectangles, laid out like bricks to highlight the cross weave.

  14. Found you on IG – beautiful giveaway! I’m a huge fan of the stuff and would love to try the new colors. Maybe geese or wonky stars?!

  15. Ooh I would use that for my souvenir quilt I’m making with fabric I got on my west coast road trip! Love it!

  16. these fabrics are lovely…I think they would be perfect for some chevron pillow covers for my daughter!! 🙂

  17. Great giveaway! I’d use them for throw pillows and I want to experiment with some african prints I recently purchased…so maybe placemats? Also, they’d be great to combine and line for a cool infinity scarf!
